Tri a Ting 2026

Try a Ting is a relaxed, inclusive introduction to swim, bike and run, created for people of colour and open to all abilities. Designed for those curious about triathlon, it offers a pressure-free way to move, build confidence, and connect with community. Not a timed race — participation over performance, at your pace no time pressure.

Venue: Surrey Docks Fitness & Watersports Centre, Rope Street, London SE16 7SX

Races & Distances

Distances are a guide only. You choose how much or how little to do, at your own pace. Distances will be visible on the day for inspiration, not requirement. Swimming is set in 300m laps, with a 30m enclosed option. The run follows 2km dockside loops.​

SUGGESTED Races and Distances

  • You'll have the option to complete any distance as big or small as you choose — both designed to be achievable and inclusive:

  • Swim: From 30m to 600m (open water)

  • Bike: from 1k - 20K (stationary spin bike)

  • Run: 2k or 4K (outdoor loop)

  • SHORTEST Tri-a-Ting Route

  • Participants can choose to complete 1, 2 or all 3 disciplines— it's your challenge, your way.

Course Overview

  • Swim: Open water or enclosed option. Wetsuits permitted below 25°C. Modest and hijab-friendly swimwear welcomed.

  • Bike: Stationary bikes, self-paced resistance.

  • Run: Flat 2km loop around Greenland Dock.

We highly recommended you bring your own bike due to the elevation of the course however, there are BTN bikes directly outside the school available for hire.
