Our Aim
We are dedicated to making a positive impact in aquatics' colour and beyond. According to British Triathlon, only 3.2% of their membership represents people of colour, while Swim England's findings reveal that a staggering 96% of black adults and 87% of Asian adults do not swim. The #OurSwimStory report from the Black Swimming Association emphasises that parental concerns for their children's safety in the water can contribute to a lack of engagement in aquatics. Additionally, 44% of their survey respondents reported a fear of water, with 34% having experienced traumatic aquatic events.
We believe in promoting healing and challenging harmful beliefs of the past. Our aim is to create an inclusive and welcoming community that fosters a love for swimming and beyond. Join us on this transformative journey to break barriers and build a more diverse, empowered. Together, we can inspire change and create opportunities for all to thrive in aquatics in London and Sussex. Black Tri Tribe reserve the right to take pictures and videos at our event upon entry.
