BTT Next Generation

What is BTT Next Gen?

BTT Next Generation is about building the future — creating space for young people to grow, explore, and see themselves within sport and beyond. This programme is designed to introduce the next generation to triathlon through accessible, engaging and structured experiences, starting with half-term and summer camps that lead directly into our events in Brighton and London.

Upcoming Programmes

The aim is simple: to give young people everything they need to take part. That means access to training, support, guidance, and a clear pathway into participating in a triathlon — often for the first time. Alongside the physical elements of swimming, cycling and running, BTT Next Generation places equal importance on identity, confidence and community, helping young people feel seen, supported and empowered.

The BTT Next Generation Half-Term Camp is a structured, multi-day programme designed for young people aged 14–18, combining physical activity with real-life learning and personal development. Across the week, participants will take part in swimming, cycling and running sessions, building the confidence and skills needed to progress into triathlon.

BTT Summer Camp

The BTT Next Generation Summer Programme is a two-week experience for children aged 7–11, focused on building confidence, curiosity and a strong sense of self. While physical activity remains a core part of the programme, the emphasis is on developing well-rounded individuals through a mix of movement, learning and creative engagement.

Our inclusive, entry-level triathlon experience designed for participants aged 6 and over. It offers a supportive environment for those looking to take on a new challenge, whether as part of their progression through BTT Next Generation or as a standalone experience.

Participants have the opportunity to complete a short-format triathlon, consisting of up to a 100m swim, 10km bike ride and 1km run. The event is structured to be accessible and flexible, allowing individuals to take part at their own pace and confidence level.

Legacy Projects

Since launching in 2022, BTT has been committed to creating accessible, community-led opportunities for people of all ages to engage with swimming, cycling and running — with a particular focus on opening doors for young people.

June 2023

Our first event in June 2023 marked the beginning of that journey, welcoming participants aged 6 and above to take part in an inclusive triathlon experience.

Summer 2024

Beyond events, our work has extended into consistent community engagement. In 2024, we delivered a summer-long swimming initiative across the school holidays, providing children with regular access to the water, many for the first time.

June 2024

Building on this, we delivered our second event in June 2024, continuing to create a space where young people and families could engage with the sport in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Summer 2025

In 2025, we continued this momentum with another large-scale community event, again welcoming participants aged 6+ and reinforcing our commitment to long-term participation rather than one-off experiences.

Family Walks 2022-2025

Alongside our sporting activity, we have also delivered a range of community-based projects, including family walks and culturally-led experiences such as Black history walks and talks.

Opening Minds on the Go 2023-2024

In partnership with the Opening Minds project. These initiatives are designed to bring people together, encourage movement in accessible ways, and create spaces for learning, reflection and connection.

We recognise that many young people face barriers to participation or simply lack access to meaningful activities during school holidays. This programme exists to keep them engaged, active and connected — offering a positive alternative to boredom, while building routine, discipline and self-belief.

BTT Next Generation is open to all young people. While we have strong roots in supporting underrepresented communities and work closely with organisations such as Voices in Exile and other local partners, our approach is inclusive, welcoming anyone who wants to get involved, regardless of background or experience.

This page represents the foundation of that work — bringing together our youth programmes, partnerships, and long-term vision to support the next generation through sport, community and opportunity.
