Legacy Projects

Legacy is measured not by medals won, but by lives changed it's about recognising the lives, communities and opportunities that have been created through Black Tri Tribe. Since 2022, we have delivered community programmes that improve health, build confidence and bring people together. From swimming and walking to youth development, education and advocacy, every project contributes to our mission of creating healthier, more connected communities.

This page celebrates that journey through stories, images and impact.

Movement creating social change.

Black Tri Tribe uses movement as a vehicle for positive social change. Our projects combine physical activity with education, wellbeing, culture and community engagement to improve lives beyond sport.

From holiday programmes and family walks to workshops, panel discussions and community events, every project is designed to build confidence, reduce isolation and create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Swimming - Removing barriers to water confidence

Creating confidence in and around water.

For many communities, swimming has never been just another sport. Barriers such as access, confidence, representation and water safety have prevented generations from enjoying the physical and mental benefits of being in the water. BTT is changing that through beginner swimming programmes, open water experiences and supportive coaching that help people build confidence, develop lifelong skills and discover a sense of belonging.

Open Water Swimming

Movement creating social change.

Open water should be a place of confidence, freedom and connection. For many communities, however, it can also be linked to fear, exclusion and lack of access.

BTT creates safe, supported open water experiences that build confidence gradually. Through group sessions, guidance and visible role models, we help people develop water safety awareness, reduce fear and experience the wellbeing benefits of being outdoors.

Walks and Hikes

Reducing isolation through shared experiences.

Our walks and hikes create accessible spaces for people to move, talk and connect. They support physical activity, mental wellbeing and social connection without the pressure of formal sport.

From family walks to longer hikes, these sessions help reduce isolation, build confidence outdoors and bring communities together across generations.

Influence Through Conversation

Turning lived experience into lasting change.

BTT believes lasting change begins with meaningful conversations. We contribute to panel discussions, conferences, workshops and public events, sharing lived experience and community insight to influence policy, improve representation and shape more inclusive communities.

By working alongside decision-makers, charities, local authorities and national organisations, we help turn conversation into action and ensure the voices of underrepresented communities are heard.

Safe Spaces During School Breaks

Helping every young person reach their potential.

School holidays should be a time for young people to learn, grow and stay active. BTT provides safe, structured programmes that reduce isolation, encourage healthy lifestyles and create positive opportunities for children and young people.

Working alongside schools, local authorities and community partners, we deliver activities that build confidence, develop life skills and provide supportive environments where every young person feels valued, included and inspired.
